Haven Pottery

A Word About Glazes

All Haven Pottery pieces are mid-fired at cone 5 to cone 6 temperatures.  At this temperature range many factors affect the final color of the glaze — such as glaze thickness, kiln temperature, and even variations in the room air around the kiln.

In the pictures below we have shown some examples of pieces using the same base glaze but with some typical variations in results.  If you are interested in having matching pieces, we will attempt to minimize the variations by creating your special order pieces at the same time as much as possible.
