Chinese Checkers
Despite its name, Chinese Checkers did not originate in China. It is actually a version of the German game Stern-Halma, which was invented in 1893. Only in the 20th century did the Japanese bring it to China!
The game’s history is fitting considering the intermingling of pieces that takes place during game play. Players attempt to move their pieces from one point of the star to the opposite point before their opponents accomplish the same task. Chinese Checkers is a quick, light-hearted strategy game perfect for after-dinner fun!
Haven Pottery offers two styles of Chinese Checkers boards. Click a game for larger view and more details.
